Role Purpose

The Senior Specialist – Field Medical serves as a scientific and clinical expert for the organization, working at the interface between the company and external healthcare professionals (HCPs), particularly key opinion leaders (KOLs). This role supports medical strategy execution through scientific exchange, clinical education, and insight gathering. Operating within the Medical Affairs function of Clinical Development and Medical Affairs (CDMA), the Senior Specialist ensures that external stakeholders are engaged with accurate, non-promotional, and current scientific information aligned with the company’s therapeutic focus areas.

Job Responsibility and key Decisions

External Scientific Engagement

Engage with KOLs, physicians, and HCPs to exchange scientific and clinical information related to disease areas, treatment approaches, and company data.

Insight Collection and Reporting

Capture field insights e.g., clinical practice trends, unmet needs, reactions to new data and communicate them internally to guide medical and commercial strategies.

Support for Medical Strategy

Execute field medical plans aligned with the medical affairs strategy, including data dissemination, education initiatives, and congress coverage.

Advisory Boards and Medical Meetings

Participate in or help coordinate medical meetings, advisory boards, and investigator meetings, ensuring alignment and scientific consistency.

Clinical Trial Support

Collaborate with clinical teams to support trial awareness, site identification, and investigator engagement in accordance with SOPs and regulations.

Training and Education

Educate HCPs and internal stakeholders on disease states, products, and relevant scientific developments.

Compliance and Documentation

Ensure that all field activities are conducted within regulatory guidelines and properly documented.
