Role Summary
A. Job Purpose: This position is to manage the inventory and costing related activities to ensure effective inventory controls are in place and processes are compatible with finance accounting & reporting The role will prepare management reports and templates for reporting to India relevant to the area of responsibilities covered B. Job Scope and Key Responsibilities: Costing • Review bills of material in SAP and ensure align with production requirements • Set up and maintain accurate standard costing and any setups in SAP • Perform roll up and release of standard cost on a yearly basis, new materials or when there are significant changes to costs • Perform cost analysis on production orders / batches and investigate cost variances • Perform analysis on production yields and efficiency • Prepare gross margin analysis by product portfolio • Review landed cost calculation on all imported materials and products • Prepare forecast costs based on senior management requests Inventory • Review monthly inventory transactions and analyse whether transactions are aligned with business requirements i.e. identifying any excessive usage or abnormalities. • Review spare parts management with engineering team to ensure critical and optimum level of spare parts inventory is maintain • Ensure inventory valuation are aligned to Biocon group and accounting standards • Lead in the annual or ad-hoc physical inventory count process Continuous improvements • Identify opportunities and make constructive suggestions to improve the process e.g. improve inventory & costing system report in SAP, working capital days improvement • Involve in Six Sigma yellow & green belt project for cost efficiency and production improvements including tracking of savings • Identify any savings opportunities in product costing and inventory management • Lead in activity-based costing project MIS • Prepare management reports and templates for group reporting and site management presentation • Meet deadline for various internal and external management for inventory and costing reporting Others • Liaise with internal audit / external audit on costing and inventory • Ensure timely month-end and year end close including completion of statutory audits • Assists in annual budgeting or forecasting process • Co-ordinate the setting up of any new plant, cost centre etc that is required in SAP • Prepare the transfer price for intercompany transactions • Support the finance team on other statutory requirement e.g. collation of information for tax submission or ad-hoc projects C. Technical / Functional Skills (Must have): • In depth knowledge of costing and inventory management • Strong accounting knowledge • Good knowledge of SAP system D. Technical / Functional Skills (Nice to have): • Worked in other MNC environment • Willing to learn new skills E. Behavioral / Management / Other Skills: • Good interpersonal skills • Fluent English communication • Able to shift gears, adapt quickly and be flexible • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ready to take on new challenges • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications especially MS Excel and MS Powerpoint • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel • Independent worker and team player F. Educational Qualification / Skills Certification: • Degree in Accounting or equivalent • Professional accountancy qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA etc G. Work Experience: • 5 to 8 years of costing experience in medium to large scale manufacturing companies • SAP experience especially on production and inventory modules covering FI, CO, MM and PP • Work experience in medium to large scale manufacturing environment in FMCG/Pharma industries
