Role Purpose

The Specialist – GRC – Commercial Compliance is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliance frameworks and processes related to commercial operations within a pharmaceutical company. The role ensures that all promotional, sales, and marketing activities adhere to applicable laws, industry codes, and internal policies, thereby minimizing legal, financial, and reputational risks. Acting as a gatekeeper of ethical business conduct, the specialist supports risk assessments, monitoring, training, and advisory functions, enabling compliant business execution across geographies and functions.

Job Responsibility and key Decisions

Monitoring Auditing Commercial Activities

Conduct routine and adhoc reviews of sales and marketing practices, promotional materials, and HCP engagements.

Identify noncompliant behavior and recommend corrective actions.

Supporting Promotional Review Process

Participate in medicallegalregulatory MLR or promotional review committees.

Ensure all commercial materials are aligned with internal standards and external regulations.

ThirdParty Due Diligence

Review thirdparty engagements for compliance with antibribery and anticorruption laws.

Assist in vetting vendors, consultants, distributors, and marketing agencies.

HCPHCO Engagement Oversight

Review and approve honoraria, sponsorships, and travel arrangements to ensure compliance with fair market value FMV and transparency requirements.

Policy SOP Maintenance

Assist in drafting, updating, and enforcing commercial compliance policies and procedures.

Communicate policy updates to impacted functions and ensure effective implementation.

Compliance Training

Deliver compliance training sessions and refreshers to commercial teams.

Track participation and reinforce expectations through ongoing communications.

Risk Assessments Issue Management

Support compliance risk assessments at local and regional levels.

Document, investigate, and escalate potential violations or red flags.

Reporting Documentation

Maintain complete and accurate documentation of compliance decisions and monitoring outcomes.

Support internal audits, external inspections, and regulatory inquiries.

Support Governance Initiatives

Collaborate with GRC leadership in implementing global and regional compliance initiatives.

Contribute to COEdriven projects, benchmarking, and harmonization efforts.

Advisory Role

Serve as a subject matter expert on commercial compliance queries.

Provide guidance to brand teams, field force, and business leadership to navigate compliance requirements.
