Role Purpose

The Team Member - Quality - QC - Molecular Biology is responsible for performing molecular biology-based testing to ensure the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products. This role involves conducting various molecular assays, including PCR, DNA/RNA analysis, and related techniques, to validate the identity, purity, and potency of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. The team member ensures compliance with regulatory standards, maintains accurate documentation, and supports investigations of deviations. They work closely with the Quality Control team to ensure timely and efficient testing and help troubleshoot issues related to molecular testing techniques.

Job Responsibility and key Decisions

Perform Molecular Biology Testing

Execute routine and nonroutine molecular biology assays on raw materials, inprocess samples, and finished products.

Follow validated methods and SOPs consistently.

Maintain Documentation

Record test procedures, observations, and results accurately and completely.

Prepare analytical reports and support batch release activities.

Sample Management

Receive, label, store, and track samples securely and compliantly.

Ensure proper disposal of biological waste as per protocols.

Support Investigations

Assist in root cause analysis for outofspecification OOS or atypical results.

Participate in corrective action implementation under supervision.

Maintain Laboratory Equipment

Conduct routine instrument checks, calibrations, and maintenance.

Report equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisors.

Compliance and Audit Support

Ensure all QC molecular biology activities comply with GMP and internal quality systems.

Prepare documentation and assist during internal and regulatory audits.

DecisionMaking Scope

Make routine decisions on sample processing and assay execution within SOP boundaries.

Escalate critical issues, deviations, or unexpected results immediately to Team Lead or QC Manager.
